Benue places N5m bounty on Akwaza

The Benue State Security Council yesterday announced a N5 million bounty for information on the whereabouts of Mr. Terwase Akwaza, alias Ghana, who was declared wanted in connection with various crimes.

Such information could be sent through text or calls to 080 66006475, 070 673749913, and 080 36363531, as well as to the security agencies.

The council took the decision at a meeting presided over by its Chairman, Governor Samuel Ortom, at the Benue Peoples House.

The council appealed to the people to provide information leading to Akwaza’s arrest, urging them not to shield Akwaza and his gang.

The council also directed the commissioner of Police to review the case of the abduction and killing of Rev. John Adeyi, with a view to tracking and bringing his killers to book.

The commissioner was also asked to check activities of illegal timber dealers, whose actions could lead to deforestation.

On the boundary conflict around Moon and Chanchangi, the council resolved that the state should sustain the demarcation exercise by the Benue and Taraba State governments in conjunction with the National Boundary Commission.

It directed security agencies to check activities of some youths in Agatu, who are said to be taking laws into their hands.
