A herbalist, Tunde
Banjo, and a suspected Muslim cleric, Nurudeen Adeniyi, have been
arrested by the police for allegedly killing a 16-year-old girl,
Olayinka, in Ijebu-Igbo, Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun
State.
The police also
arrested 19-year-old Tobi Ogunkoya, who was suspected to have lured the
teenager into the hands of both Banjo and Adeniyi.
New Telegraph learnt
that operatives from the Ago-Iwoye and Ijebu-Igbo Divisions of the state
police command arrested the three suspects Tuesday following frantic
search for the late Olayinka.
Sources said the teenager was killed for ritual purposes as her breasts were severed by her suspected killers.
The acting Police Public
Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the arrests, stated
that one Serifat Adebanjo reported to the police station in Ago-Iwoye
about the abduction of Olayinka.
Oyeyemi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, said the complainant identified Tobi Ogunkoya as a suspect in the abduction.
