Public funds looters are funding anti-government war on media- Prof. Osinbajo


- Acting President Osinbajo says looters of public funds are trying to sabotage the government’s anti-corruption efforts via the media 

- He said financial institutions withholding illicit funds should be punished 

- This is coming days after EFCC boss, Ibrahim Magu, said those elected to protect the public and the poor were the ones destroying the anti-corruption war
Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has raised the alarm over people who have stolen public funds and are trying to delegitimize the anti-corruption efforts of the Buhari administration via the media. 

 According to Premium Times, Osinbajo while speaking in Abuja on Monday, June 5, also advocated punishment for banks and financial institutions withholding illicit funds.


Osinbajo revealed that one of the top priorities of the current administration remains the fight against corruption. 

He said: “We will remain committed on the three focused areas which include fighting corruption, insurgency and providing employment to the teeming number of unemployed youths in the country.” 

In a similar report, Ibrahim Magu, acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) disclosed that those actually destroying the war against corruption under President Muhammadu Buhari are the same people elected to protect the public and the poor, has revealed.
