Rangers draw Nasarawa Utd, MFM win

Champions Enugu Rangers managed to force a 1-1 draw on visiting Nasarawa United in their matchday 22 of the Nigeria Professional Football League at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu on Sunday. Nasarawa were heading for a win after Thomas Zenke put them ahead on 75 minutes, before Godwin Aguda scored for 10 minutes to stoppage time to help salvage a point for the hosts. United boss Kabir Dogo in a post-match chat did describe the draw as a “good result”, saying that both sides gave their very best performance in the clash as showed in the outcome. “It was a good game for both sides, we got our own chance at goal and were able to make it count positively,” Dogo told Supersport. “Enugu Rangers had theirs too and actually made a maximal use of it to keep the scores at one goal apiece.

“It’s interesting that both legs of the matches in Lafia and Enugu ended one goal apiece for the sides.” Also on Sunday, Lagos side MFM FC pipped FC IfeanyiUbah 1-0 at Agege Stadium, with the only goal of the game scored by Adebayo Waheed in the 19th minute. After joining the Eagles’ squad that played against Togo last Thursday, Stephen Odey and Sikiru Olatunbosun returned to action for the club and helped them secure their first win in four league games. In Calabar, Enyimba edged leaders Plateau United 1-0 thanks to a 70th-minute goal by Andrew Abalogu, who was injured seven minutes to time and was stretchered off.
