Boko Haram releases video of 3 kidnapped UNIMAID workers

A video in which abducted staff of university of Maiduguri appealing for the FG's help has been released by Boko Haram

Boko Haram insurgents have released a video of three kidnapped men who claimed to be staff of the university of Maiduguri appealing to the FG to come to their rescue.

The video according to reports was sent to Channels Television which could not independently verify its authenticity.


The authenticity of the men being lecturers of the university as at the time of filing this report, could not also verified by sources.

Two of the men gave their names as as Yusuf Ibrahim and Dr Solomon N. Yusuf, claiming they were lecturers in the Geology Department of the University.

The third man identified himself as Haruna, claiming he was a driver with the university.

According to them, they were part of the oil exploration team ambushed by Boko Haram on Tuesday (July 25).

They also claimed that the video was recorded on Friday July 28, 2017.

It was gathered that no less than 12 soldiers in an earlier report were killed while at least four out of 12 staff of the University of Maiduguri equally lost their lives.
