ALVARO MORATA’S team-mates are aware that he is looking for more game time and may quit Real Madrid, says Sergio Ramos.
Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata is wanted by Premier League side Chelsea. Manchester United have dropped their interest in the Spain international as they close in on Romelu Lukaku.
And defender Ramos as revealed Morata is considering his options after struggle for minutes since his return to Real from Juventus last summer. And he also gave his backing to Cristiano Ronaldo’s decision to stay at Real. “The only thing, as a team-mate, I can say is that I like playing with the best players and hopefully they’re with us for many more years,” Ramos told Marca.
“Perhaps Cris’ case is different to Morata’s, who is looking to play more and feel like a starter. “Maybe he’s looking for a way out, so we’ll see.” Morata has failed to muscle his way into manager Zinedine Zidane’s first-team plans, with Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema the regular front three at the Bernabeu. A move to Chelsea could be engineered but the Blues are likely to sell Diego Costa before they sign a new striker. Juventus were supposedly another option for the Spaniard but it appears have avenue has closed.
