Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers haven't announced Alfredo Morelos yet, but is it a done deal?
Alfredo Morales has been on the brink of joining Rangers for quite a while now. The Colombian, who has netted 44 times in 59 matches for HFK Helsinki, passed a medical with the Ibrox club last week but the club is yet to announce his arrival.
The Scottish Sun claimed on Friday that although the striker has been issued with a work permit, the 20-year-old - along with Mexican pair Carlos Pena and Eduardo Herrera, also on the brink of joining the Gers - are now "sweating" on being granted a visa before the deadline for Europa League qualifiers shuts on Monday afternoon. But the South American's switch to Glasgow might well be finalised after Morelos stated in his Instagram bio that he was a Rangers man.
The Glasgow giants lost striker Joe Garner to Ipswich Town on Friday. But if Morelos is anywhere near as lethal as his record in Finland suggests then the English forward - who netted only seven Premiership goals following a £1.8 million switch last summer - won't be missed in the slightest. According to The Sun, he will join for a fee in the region of £1 million which, again, would be an absolute steal if he winds up being the talismanic figure that Rangers want - and need. They finished 39 points behind Celtic last season and a big improvement is needed if manager Pedro Caixinha is to bridge that gap.
