Dani Alves could be off. On Saturday those rumours crystalised after Gonzalo Higuain posted a goodbye message to Alves on social media, which he later deleted. Goal.com now report that Alves is “close” to becoming City’s third signing of the summer. The Brazilian, of course, worked with Guardiola at Barcelona. Tottenham, Southampton stars City also have three more fullbacks on their radar. Links to Monaco left-back Benjamin Mendy are still live, as City negotiate a 40 million pound deal with the Ligue 1 champs for the French international.
Guardiola is also looking at England internationals from Tottenham and Southampton: Kyle Walker and Ryan Bertrand. Goal.com report: (Dani Alves) demonstrated throughout last season that he still has what it takes to play the kind of intelligent, high-intensity football that Guardiola wants from his City full-backs in the coming years.
