Report: Newcastle in four-team battle for Sam Clucas, transfer fee could reach £10m

According to the Daily Mail, Newcastle United remain in pursuit of Hull City midfielder Sam Clucas, with the Championship club allegedly seeking up to £10million for his services.
The Magpies tied up their second signing of the summer earlier this week by bringing French defender Florian Lejeune to Tyneside from Eibar, joining fellow summer addition Christian Atsu at the club.

Manager Rafael Benitez is looking for more new additions ahead of the new Premier League season though, and another midfielder could be on his radar.
The Daily Mail now claim that Newcastle remain interested in Hull City ace Sam Clucas, and he would be a versatile option for Benitez given that he can play out wide or as a central midfielder.
Clucas, 26, starred with Hull last season, notching three goals and one assist whilst mostly featuring in central midfield, as his remarkable journey up through the leagues continued.
A former Leicester youngster, who headed to the Glenn Hoddle Academy in Spain following his release, Clucas has gradually built himself back up with Hereford United, Mansfield Town, Chesterfield and now Hull.

New Hull boss Leonid Slutskiy will desperately hope to keep Clucas at the club as he attempts to take the Tigers back to the Premier League, but Newcastle are just one of four clubs hoping to sign him this summer.
It's noted that Burnley, Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion have all submitted enquiries to sign Clucas, and Hull want up to £10million for his signature, meaning that Newcastle will have to move quickly if they want to beat their Premier League rivals to a deal.
