Black Panther actresses, Lupita Nyong’O and Danai Gurira are in Lagos, Nigeria.
Kenyan-American Nyong’O posted a picture of the duo on Friday with her location reading, Lagos, Nigeria and the caption; “Girls Trip! #Lagos #Nigeria/ @danaigurira”
While it is speculated that they may have come and left before Nyong’O shared the photo, findings revealed that the actresses may have come into the country to research on an upcoming project.
The actresses are working on adapting Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s book, Americanah into a TV mini-series.
Backing up the claim that they have left the country, Gurira during an interview on The Ellen Show spoke about her trip to Nigeria.
She said: “I was researching. I’m a writer and I was researching something that I’m adapting into a miniseries. The book by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie called ‘Americanah’.”
About getting recognized when she was in Nigeria, she said: “I was in this very small town in a small hotel, and I was just walking across the breakfast room to get a cup of tea.
Then, this man, he was probably around 60 or so, looked up and went, ‘GENERAL’. That was surprising.”
