Chelsea are set to battle it out with AC Milan for the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund. According to Calcio Mercato , Chelsea and Milan are leading the race for his signature, after a move to China was dismissed.
It was previously suggested that Aubameyang could be on his way to Tianjin Quanjian, who signed striker Anthony Modeste from Cologne today. The report claims that Chelsea are keen on the forward, having missed out on Romelu Lukaku.
Manchester United signed Lukaku from Everton this week for £75m. He was said to be Antonio Conte’s number one target this summer.
They now look to move on to other targets and Aubameyang appears to be top of the list. He would cost Chelsea £70m, with Dortmund very keen to keep him at the club for next season. Milan are willing to offer Aubameyang €8m-per-season but the report claims that he is looking for €12m.
