Former Jigawa state governor, Sule Lamido, has sent a delegation to the south west ahead of the 2019 election - Lamido is expected soon to formally declare his interest in entering the race for the presidency in 2019 - A communique released at the end of the meeting in Oyo touted Lamido as the true democrat and leader Nigeria needs One of the founding members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and a former governor of Jigawa state, Alhaji Sule Lamido, might soon immerse himself into the race for the presidential seat ahead of the 2019 elections. Ahead of the next presidential election, Lamido has dispatched emissaries to the south-west for consultations, Tribune reports.
The delegation began their consultations in Ibadan, Oyo state, a few days ago. NAFDAC During the visit, Lamido’s team, including his former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr Aminu Abdullahi Taura; Director of Press, Umar Kyari; and his personal assistant, Umar Danjani, among others, held a meeting with the ex-governor’s supporters drawn from the six south-west states under the aegis of the PDP Consultative Forum. The Oyo state coordinator of the group, Adeolu Adekunle also urged the forum’s members and the PDP in general to put the past behind them and forge a common front in order to return the party to power. Also, Rasaq Aka, the south-west coordinator of the forum urged Lamido to work in conjunction with other PDP founding members to end the current crisis engulfing the party. At the end of the meeting, a communique was issued, lauding Lamido for his achievements as governor
