Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Thomas Lemar but are still someway from agreeing a price with AS Monaco, according to reports in England.
The Sun is reporting that the north London side have reached an agreement with the 21-year-old midfielder over a proposed contract should Arsenal settle on a price with the Ligue 1 champions.
However, the same article states Lemar has told AS Monaco that he wants to leave the French side in the summer transfer window despite helping the club to beat Paris Saint-Germain to the title. Indeed, the story goes on to reveal that the exciting France international has agreed a £90,000-a-week contract with the north London club.
The exciting attacker scored nine goals and made 10 assists in 34 appearances in Ligue 1 last season to attract interest from some of Europe’s top clubs this summer. Arsenal completed a club-record £52m deal to sign Alexandre Lacazette from Ligue 1 side Lyon on Wednesday to eclipse the fee that the FA Cup winners spent on World Cup winner Mesut Ozil. The Gunners finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season but still managed to win the FA Cup for the third time in four campaigns following a 2-1 win against Chelsea.
