Aisha Buhari, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, left Nigeria on Sunday to visit her ailing husband, The Nation reports.
The president has been in London since May 7 to receive medical treatment. Mrs. Buhari had just returned from the United Kingdom last week, assuring Nigerians that her husband was in good health and would return soon.
Many Nigerians, however, are running out of patienceOn Monday morning, aggrieved citizens trooped out to protest Mr. Buhari’s 92-day absence, demanding that he either resume presidential duties in Nigeria or resign.
While the presidency has yet to issue a statement regarding the first lady’s trip to London, members of staff confirmed the development to The Nation.
